Plan printer space and upfront cost
Check a documented operating envelope and an itemized starting budget before buying.
- Use millimeters throughout. Measure usable space, not the outside dimensions of furniture.
- Enter the manufacturer-required additional clearance beyond printer dimensions, combining both sides of each axis. Include moving beds, doors, spool placement and service access as applicable.
- Enter every cost category in one currency. Use an explicit zero only when you have confirmed that no cost applies.
Enter observations you can support. Leave unknowns blank or choose Unknown. Inputs stay in this page; reloading clears them. Do not enter passwords or personal customer information.

Examples demonstrate the tool. They are not your observations and do not count as completed reader work.

- Are all clearances based on this configuration’s manufacturer guidance?
- Printer width (mm)
- Total additional width clearance (mm)
- Usable space width (mm)
- Printer depth (mm)
- Total additional depth clearance (mm)
- Usable space depth (mm)
- Printer height (mm)
- Total additional height clearance (mm)
- Usable space height (mm)
- Shared currency code (for example USD)
- Printer price (same currency)
- Shipping (same currency)
- Tax (same currency)
- Starting filament or resin (same currency)
- Required tools and protective supplies (same currency)
- Required workspace changes (same currency)
- Maximum upfront budget (same currency)
- Project you cannot complete with your existing setup
Record the date, source and unknowns, then list what to check next. A filled worksheet is not independent verification.
What this tool can and cannot establish
- This is a geometric and budget check, not certification of fire, electrical, ventilation, load-bearing or child/pet safety.
- A full envelope from the manufacturer should not have clearance added twice. Enter the printer body and required additional clearance separately.
- Ongoing electricity, consumables, maintenance and failed prints are excluded from upfront cost.
Completed means the required input record was filled, not that every check passed. Where audience measurement is enabled, only fixed completion, export and feedback identifiers are counted; entered values and notes are not sent.
One row per machine
Download the printer checklist and fill one row per SKU. Copy the product name, listed price and date, build volume, enclosure, return window, and warranty from the official page. Leave cells blank when the page does not state the fact.
The worksheet is an editorial checklist. It does not score printers or prove that a return will be accepted.
